Well, actually homeowners can do a couple of things, neither of whcih they seem inclined to do. They can get off their fannies and vote for people who won't rob them blind at tax time. And they can buy smaller/less expensive. Personally, we'd rather spend money on what goes in the house that on the house itself. Less to render unto Caesar that way.
