Widow of Soldier Killed Due To Give Birth
LAST UPDATE: 5/5/2003 1:15:54 PM Posted By: Andrea Rigsby
The pregnant widow of an Army specialist killed in Iraq says she's going to teach the couple's son about his dad. James Michael Kiehl of Comfort, Texas, was killed in an ambush in March.
"My dad told me that morning, there were people from his company missing and I just automatically and I was like, James is one of them," says Jill Kiehl.
21-year-old Jill Kiehl is days away from giving birth to the couples first child. The baby, to be named Nathaniel, was due on May 4th.
"You've had your life planned a certain way and then, it's one thing that makes such a big difference in your life and just have to see how it goes," says Jill.
Hundreds of well wishers are giving to a memorial fund. Others are collecting baby gifts for Nathaniel. Jill says her son will know about his dad.
"I'm going to raise him, and love him and he'll know who his dad was," says Jill.
Jill thinks of what she'll one day tell Nathaniel about the daddy he'll never know.
"He could hold a conversation with just about anybody," says Jill, "He was really an intellectual person but he was down to earth, he wasn't, you know, he was a big kid."

Honestly not sure, though we could check with the station carrying the story (or other local news outlet). If anyone gets any info please post and ping!
Mrs. Bat and I think virtually the same thing...we've been frequent visitors to Oahu and have made the trip to the Punchbowl (Cemetery of the Pacific) resting place more times than needed for "tourists"....these eternal spaces need continuing honoring.
