Unlocking The Matrix [SPOILERS]
Time Magazine ^ | May 12,2003 Issue | RICHARD CORLISS

Posted on 05/04/2003 1:27:57 PM PDT by Captain Peter Blood

Flanked by Trinity and Morpheus, Neo meets the Merovingian and his luscious wife Persephone (Monica Bellucci). The Merovingian is a Frenchman out of the Bush Administration bestiary: cruel, supercilious, with a love of cursing in French—which he describes as like "wiping your ass with silk." He refuses to release the Key Maker.

Jesus then invited his disciples to walk across the water to him, with faith they could do the same as he could..
it was not only god who could defy the physical rules

I've been playing the "Enter The Matrix" game for the PlayStation 2 and it has some extra footage shot to coincide with the movie. The "slaughter" was definitely those other ships, not Zion. Also, there's a point when Niobe is about to leave the Matrix and some old guy comes walking around her saying that the last Zion had fallen in 72 hours. If Zion was just another part of the program, why continually destroy it? As "The Architect" said, there had been 5 previous Zions, all of them destroyed.

You know the rules. You can't just toss Monica Bellucci's name out there without the obligatory pic. Lucky for you, I just happen to have one handy.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of those images that were taken down and replaced with "DON'T LEECH IMAGES" banners?

Corliss used to write for the National Review. Just goes to show how easy it is to buy smarmy film reviewers idealogically.

Very interesting points to mull on. It'd be exciting to see what the producers have in mind.

However, it seems that the producers want to be "elite" and "trendy"... so we probably can rule out a happy Star Wars-ish ending. THe only thing I'm betting on is that the ending, whatever it is, will probably be depressing. After all, "literature" today seems to solely consist of depressing endings or cryptic endings.

On the other hand, the producers demonstrated their ability to bow down to "fanservice" with all those fighting scenes, while cool to watch, were 100% meaningless.

My bet, for now, is that the 3rd Matrix movie will be 90% fanservice (read: 1337 kewl fights) and the last 10% a depressing ending pretending to be fraught with meaning. As to what exactly the ending would be--either one of your scenarios (merging of machine/man or the crucifixation of Neo) sounds pretty good.
