AL Gore, the former US vice-president who won the popular vote at the last presidential election, will visit Australia this month to urge the Howard Government to sign the Kyoto agreement on reducing greenhouse gases.
Mr Gore will speak at Sydney's Westin Hotel on May 29 and argue against US President George Bush's policies on global security and environmental sustainability.
In 2000, Mr Gore, the Democratic Party's nominee for president, won 500,000 more votes across America than Mr Bush. His supporters also argue that he won the key state of Florida but the Republican-dominated Supreme Court ruled in favour of Mr Bush.
Mr Gore has since announced he will not seek the Democratic presidential endorsement in 2004.
He will meet Premier Bob Carr and former federal Liberal leader John Hewson, who are pressuring the Federal Government to ratify the Kyoto accord.

I think a good bumper-sticker for 2004 would be:
"I VOTED FOR GORE . . . THANK GOD BUSH IS PRESIDENT!"

AL Gore, the former US vice-president who won the popular vote at the last presidential election...Sheesh, you'd think they'd give up on the popular vote thing and move on after 3 years, five months and two successful wars.

Not only are they completely obsessed with the 'popular vote thing' (ignoring the fact that we have anything called an 'electoral college'), but they still drone on and on about the 'fascist' Supreme Court ruling and the 'illegitimate' President. My guess is they'll be obsessed with it for at least another century.

Since I'm not a photoshop owner nor have a clue about it, I wish someone would create a bumpersticker that says "Help Al Gore Save the Earth" then superimpose it on a Ford Excursion. That photo should be floated around the net as much as possible:)

COUld you imagine if this fat slob was President?
Signing Kyoto would have been his response to 9-11.
Remember, Clinton blamed "environmental degredation" (along with poverty) for terrorism, and they are cut from the same leftist mold.
