DNC Chairman McAuliffe Statement on President Bush's Taxpayer-Funded Photo Opportunity
Washington, D.C. -- Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Terry McAuliffe issued the following statement:
"The 341,000 Americans who became unemployed in April had the honor of watching the president land on an aircraft carrier yesterday afternoon, no doubt wondering how the costs of this extravagant photo-op would affect their pocketbooks. Instead of watching his dramatic sea landing, I am sure they would rather have been at work.
"The president seems to want to focus all of his attention on military success rather than his complete lack of success on the economic front. He is presiding over an economy that is losing jobs rather than creating them."

...his complete lack of success on the economic front. And just what might be the main cause of President Bushs "lack of success" Mr. McAuliffe?
Could it be the stonewalling of his tax plan, which would be an enormous boost to the economy, have anything to do with it?
Oh, and Mr. McAuliffe. "Trickle down" DOES work, no matter the lies you utter.

"The cost was almost nothing because (as I understand it) this flight was already scheduled to happen..." aren't most congress-people flying on military planes?
wouldn't you like to see em all fly commercial; havin' their shoes x-rayed?
being wanded like a terrorist...
showing up @the airport 3 hours before their flight...

Excellent point.
In response to your tag line, love is blind, but lingerie is popular because it feels so good.

And to think I thought the DNC would have learned that bashing on their web page with a social security card deplicting Bush pushing old people in wheelchairs down a hill, accusing Bush of poisoning the water supply, Accusing Bush of cutting off peoples heat in the winter, ain't no longer good politiking.Bashing a seated President who just won a war going against the world U.N. bull%hit that not only looks good in a flt. suite but actually flew a bit in landing on one of our almighty air craft carriers, while visiting the troops that are so God blessed grateful the dems are gone and not gutting them-
IS THE STUPIDIST THING THE HITLERY WORSHIPPERS COULD HAVE DONE!

he is jealous because he did not think of it first.
he is jealous because clinton DID have the exact same opportunites to fight evil (africa, afganistan, iraq).
he is jealous because how would clinton be believable in a figher jet?
he is jealous because even before the president began his speach the troop gave a spontaneous "yeah".
(clinton had to order an audience to attend)
he is jealous because the public is not seeing this as a cynical pr stunt but as a historic marking point.
(the analogy of the japanese surrender is warranted and intentional)
he is jealous because people remember and are comparing the democrat and the republican presidencies.
he is jealous because the democrat party has been exposed as lacking GRAVITAS

it would be interesting to compare and contrast photo opps between clinton and bush. (clinton taking the WH law vs Bush infront of the crewmen on the Lincoln. hilary on a camel etc.) This is us vs this is them.

Politics according to the RatNC:
George Bush could either:
1. Not make any special effort to thank the troops. Or,
2. He could visit the USS Lincoln, but he had to swim there.
Hey, Terry, look at this:
