The mother of a Laguna Hills woman accused of making a high-seas terrorist threat says she wouldn't have posted bail for her daughter even if a judge had granted it. Debra Ferguson tells the Los Angeles Times she could not risk her family's financial health by posting bail for her daughter, whom she calls a ``brat.''
Twenty-year-old Kelley Ferguson is accused of planting threatening notes aboard the Legend of the Seas in an effort to get the cruise ship to return to California so she could be reunited with her boyfriend. She was ordered held without bail after a prosecutor argued she is a flight risk.
Ferguson is charged with two counts of threatening acts of terrorism, and could face as much as ten years in prison on each charge.
Debra Ferguson says her daughter ``is going to have to stay in jail and learn her lesson.''

Boyfriend sounds like a real winner. I think the young lady has some kind of mental or developmental problem. Hopefully they can help her. One of my best friends has a son with slight autism problem and she has tried her very best to get him treatment, good schooling, etc. He's very polite and a nice young man, but very immature and has a hard time keeping a job. He still lives at home and it's very difficult for her but she has always hung in there with him even though it's really tough.

The government does not have unlimited resources and dealing with a dumb stunt will cost a significant amount of money. They prosecute her, and she gets time means someone else won't unless they press for restitution.
They may also mean restitution for the cruise line who lost huge amounts of money, for her little stunt.
And she will pay and pay dearly...$10 per month for life!!! That's worse than a student loan. LOL
The mom was right about bail. 10% of $250,000 or a whopping $25,000 fee. If the daughter skips, they lose their house outright ($250,000 collateral). If they could trust the daughter maybe.

Ugly, selfish, hateful, moronic, big time loser: the target market for tobacco sales and democrats.I resent the jibe about target market for tobacco sales.
The part about demoncrats is, however, 95% true.
There are some demoncrats that are not ugly, at least on the outside.
