I knew that the author was going to accuse anyone who dared used this word of being a Jew hater. He is yet another Al Sharpton of the right getting in the gutter because he sees a racist...err anti-semite....under every bed.

Wouldn't you agree with me that there is something really pathetic about those who want to fight verbal wars over newspeak type labels, rather than actually discuss the philosophical issues that underlie political and social actions in our political society?

I am as sick as you are about this endless prattle that questions motives, rather than address serious differences of opinion. Some people seem to be devolving into characters out of a surrealist nightmare, totally unable to even perceive that there are real intellectual issues, that ought to be addressed.

Um, the author explained that the term is being used INCORRECTLY, and in what way.

If the people who use the term INCORRECTLY do so in a disproportionate way towards Jews, that's their own damn fault.

If "paleocons" don't want the reputation of anti-Semitism, they ought not to earn it. Deal with the real issues:

Is cowardice in foreign poicy a hallmark of ANY kind of conservatism, however defined?

This Jane Fonda, would she be a paleoconservative, then?

Will the Dixie Chicks be the songbirds of the paleo-curmudgeon movement?

Is "paleo-con" Sam Francis regularly featured in "paleo-con" rags, as the editor of the newspaper of the "Conservative Citizens' Councils" whose organizational maiden name was the White Citizen's Councils (the blow-dried Klan) a conservative? Is he a racist? Is he anti-Semitic, having addressed the neo-Nazi American Renaissance Movement convention and entertaining those present on the topic of what Francis called "kosher conservatism?"

Would you say that you have set an example for others by refraining from name-calling?
