The good news is we have term limits. The bad news is that the districts are so gerrymandered that the major competition is in the primary. That forces most districts (the ones that have changed little since the last redistricting) to run a Left of Left Dumocrat to win in the primary. The few Republicans tend to be more moderate than the Dumbocrats, but their votes don't matter much, the Dems have 60 percent of the districts all locked up. At the last redistricting, that was their price: Safe Republican districts in exchange for permanent Democrat Majority.
Term limits got Willie Brown out, but he moved across the bay and is screwing up San Francisco. It is funny for him to try to get the homeless there to stop crapping on the sidewalk, after he spent years running the Assembly giving them rights.
EDM makes a great tool.
