A former Orlando resident who was held as a prisoner of war in Iraq for almost three weeks participated in a special ceremony Friday that included lowering a flag that was raised after his capture.
The entire Williams family was on hand for a ceremony Friday at City Hall, where Williams took down the POW-MIA flag that's been flying over City Hall since he was taken prisoner.
David Williams arrived in Central Florida Thursday to take part in Friday's flag ceremony, according to Local 6 News.
Williams, of Orlando, Fla., was reunited with his family at Fort Hood last month after being rescued from Iraq.
Williams and his wife, Michelle, have been spending time fixing a house they had moved into only a few days before he was sent to Iraq, his father, Dave Williams, said.
