If you came around more often you would have seen it. LOL

No offense taken, Sir Fierro..:))
My phlowers??
Not phlox - not phorget-me-nots - - not phoxglove, phlomis, phacelia campanularia (California desert bluebells) or phreesia or phremontodendron - - no sirree
Today, for starters, in a circular bed in the front yard where a dead tree was removed, I made a circle of bricks and had built it up and used border grass around it to camouflage the height.
Because it is full sun, am this year using assorted shades of yellow, orange and red and combinations thereof marigolds.
In the past, tried other things - red salvia and dusty miller together is pretty.
There are The Other Beds, and pots - and this afternoon will tackle the big stump by the creek side of the yard.
Last year, in the hollowed out inside filled with good soil, I'd tried red and pale pink geraniums (part sun-part shade, near a dogwood and a pecan tree) and they were spectacular, visible from every window on the back side of the house.
Doing it that way again.
Born to grub, even if the doctor says I cannot ever again use my brand new loppers (broken and 'repaired' right arm) or lift any heavy object. Next time I'll ask if my husband starts the weed eater for me and hands it to me, if I can 'wave it around.' Love to wield it, and tidy up the world.
The other beds will probably have hostas and red and white begonias, and in one very shady bed, impatiens in a riot of colors.
Your panoramic view of the mountains is spectacular!

Didn't you put some cookies in the oven earlier? How about sharing?
Hint Hint!
That's a request for you to post your cookie bear image. I like that one and you don't use it very often.

Hi, Everybody!
WOW! This is a fun thread!
Lori, I loved the way you presented my open letter! It was beautiful!
The fact that this was written and posted the day after President Bush made that landing on the carrier Abraham Lincoln and made that awesome speech last night was purely coincidental!
but great timing it was!
Im about ready to loggoff and go home, but I hope to be back later this afternoon or evening and, since this is Friday night, Ill try to stay longer!
So hope everyones afternoon is great and for those who I wont see til tomorrow or Monday.
have a nice evening and a nice weekend!
SEE YALL LATER TONIGHT! :O)

a hazy cast lay easily
a hazy cast lay easily
upon dawn's merest evidence,
a proof from nature's subtle labs
that morning stirred not far behind.
there was a robin scoping in
the majesty of early hours,
a breakfast 'neath the surface laid,
a new dust draped as comfort, kind.

much 'preciation for your continued prayers.

I have had a *heck* of a day and this is the first opportunity that I've had to visit ther Finest. What a pleasure it was, too!
((((((((((Pippin)))))))))))) thank-you for expressing what most of us at FR feel. We are truly blessed to have President Goerge W Bush and his lovely wife Laura in the White House. It truly makes me *angry* when I read some of the stuff that Dashole, Pelosi and their ilk have to say about our president.
((((((((Mama_Bear)))))))))) - excellent and beautiful presentation. The photos of our very photogenic president and his wife are priceless. Thank-you for bringing this to us today.

If that picture doesn't just look like I feel right now! LOL!!! I have been working like a DOG since 6 a.m. to set up the company "Employee Appreciation (yeah, right!) Picnic out in the Hot-as-*heck*-parking-lot-I-kid-you-not". I sat down for the first time (other than to drive over to Sam's with two other ladies to pick up boxes of hamburgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers, 24 bags of ice, 12 bags of chips, 13 each bags of hot dog and hamburger rolls) about an hour ago. It felt so good I nearly cried! LOL!!!
Phew! Thanks for the vent.
