I apologize for the rudeness of my previous remark, but people I have known personally appear to be getting banned for rather flimsy reasons. Askel5 gets banned as a "Saddam Sympathizer," when she's as "right-wing" as they come. A good friend of mine got banned recently for taking issue with some glib remarks people were making about that lady who got run over by a bulldozer in Palestinian territory. I'll admit he did use the term "neo-nazi" but anyone can handle that, whether on this forum or in a boxing ring. :-)

In short, with all due respect to your labors, either you or your admin moderators seem to be running wild. Even Clinton's a Liar was banned some time ago! Don't worry, I don't think FreeRepublic sucks, but the ease of censorship definitely disturbs me.

What would be the point of running a political activism site (FR is not a liberal debating society) with certain long and short term goals with thousands of like-minded people working their hearts out attempting to achieve said goals and then allowing abusive people with their own agendas to come in trying to tear down your work or otherwise obstruct or impede your progress?

There are dissenting conservatives, and even though this forum has admirable long-term goals, to silence people who simply advocate voting for Pat Buchanan, f'rinstance, in your effort to weed out bad apples simply is overdoing it, w/all due respect. Nope. They are overdoing it. Personal attacks, insults, untrue assertions, trespassing and registering multiple accounts to harass us, acting as agents provocateur registering and posting outlandish racist or bigoted garbage in attempts to sabotage the web site, spreading propaganda, smearing our candidates and or our members, joining with leftists and anarchists to work against us, attacking our causes, attacking our goals, bearing personal grudges and taking vengeance against our members, our candidates, our allies, our web site, attempting to drive our members away, etc., etc.

They are definitely working against us (and by the way, I include the overall conservative cause when I say "us" here) in an organized, direct and deliberate attempt to thwart our efforts and damage or defeat our purposes and causes.

Don't believe me? Read their websites. You don't think they've been waging organized war against us? Some for several years? No thanks. They're not welcome here, will never be welcome here and I will continuing banning them on sight anytime any of them register an account here.

Now I realize you may think old Jim has flipped his lid and this is all paranoia or something, but, hey, we've banned some of these characters dozens and even hundreds of times. They keep reregistering and coming back. Again, read their web sites. They make no secret about their aims or their methods.

The rumor about bannings is a myth.

That's why it is a bit annoying to me. I've never seen anyone who didn't get a second ... or third ... chance. Michael Rivero, Arator, Jack Thompson, A+bert, Demidog ... they are like Friday the 13ths Freddies up the FR yin yang! They always had a sequel until they started to really spiral into a kooky abyss. Badjoe still has an active account, so does the Aligyrl "completely sane" gang.

Everybody was blabbering about poor Askel last night. She went international nutzoid. She forgot to leave her pretend Madame Labellesansluis character, who hated America, when that character was banned. Those Taliban kids were plucky and worthy of support, however.

My dad, interestingly enough, is becoming increasingly liberal, although he's been conservative his whole life. Can someone explain this? I thought individuals were more likely to either stay conservative or become more conservative with age. Isn't that the case, usually?
