A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/1/03

President Bush and First Lady Laura began the day in a ceremony honoring the National Day of Prayer. Bush then headed to San Diego where he co-piloted a Navy Viking jet and landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln, a truly historic moment for American Presidents and our country. The President then spoke to the nation saying that major combat operations in Iraq are over. Bush also took the opportunity to once again thank the men and women of our military. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I can't believe I missed everything. I had ALOT going on yesterday.
So, did Dubya spend the night on the ship?
To: ReaganandDubyaForever
Yes, just now left the Lincoln, in fact, and touched down at SD, just this minute.
To: texasbluebell
That night spent on board will make for some interesting reading in his auto-biography!
To: ohioWfan
Ohio, you are in prime form. Go take a shower!

Havn't you ever seen those "baby on board" placards? Yes. And what is your point?
Did you just screw up?
To: lawgirl
I never saw this! I bet it wasn't on TV--the CIC dressing up and getting down and dirty with the crew. I think he just cemented himself 5500 votes today.......I think the votes of 5500 families is more likely!

Next morning kudos JH2 - I hope our President will see this - somehow I think he will.

Fox was just talking to the Executive Officer of the Lincoln, who told him that he and the Pres got to spend a little time early this am.
GWB wanted to get some fresh air, so the 2 of them went up on deck for a while, and the Exec Off was asked what is the Pres like? He said, he's a humble man, and a truly great American. He said, we all love our CinC. And he said it with a lot of feeling.
Said that GW was asking about how hard is it for those sailors who have to berth under the area where the planes land, how noisy etc. And he was asking about the Captain's cabin where he stayed, was told the Captain has never stayed in that one, it must be for guests--the Capt stays up on the bridge.
The Fox guy John said some of the young sailors he was talking to last night were so excited. One of them came and told his mates that he got to serve the Pres his steak, and was just thrilled about getting that honor!

What a hottie! ;)
Thank you for the photos... this is definitely bookmark-worthy. What an exhilirating day yesterday! I can't really add anything more, the other great posts on this thread have said it all. We are truly blessed to have Dubya. Praise God for giving us the right man for the right time... God bless our Military... they are truly the best of the best! After so many years of disgust and shame (ala the Clintons) it feels so GOOD to have pride again!

Didn't you hear that WOOSH sound, right over your head?

I have come to a definite conclusion: President George W. Bush is the ultimate man's man, the ultimate President, the ultimate Comander in Chief, the ULTIMATE! This guy rocks, and I bet he's just so humble about the whole thing.
