A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/1/03

President Bush and First Lady Laura began the day in a ceremony honoring the National Day of Prayer. Bush then headed to San Diego where he co-piloted a Navy Viking jet and landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln, a truly historic moment for American Presidents and our country. The President then spoke to the nation saying that major combat operations in Iraq are over. Bush also took the opportunity to once again thank the men and women of our military. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Today was a great day for all involved. I have a feeling that Dubya probably looked to be having the most fun. He seriously was a kid in a candy store today.

When he stepped onto the flight deck, he looked like a a kid in the candy store for the first time, and had $1000 to spend just there. He was "giddy as a schoolboy."
Maybe it was the blood going to his head when he was doing maneuvers in the jet. Maybe that's why he looks so goofy!

Hey, Lawgirl, wake up. There are more pictures for you to faint over.

I was thinking about that quote earlier today when I was posting to another thread about all the great speeches and moments W has given us.
Patriciaruth-Yeah I am here! I was over at my folks' house and had to make a polite retreat- I was dying to get to the dose but I didnt' want to be rude and say "well the president's speech is over, so I am out of here." LOL!
My dad, a Vietnam vet, got teary eyed at the end of the speech when W was talking about those that died and was getting teary himself- W gets it and my dad knows it. And my dad is not one to shed a tear lightly.

Actually, the potassium will help with energy levels. I went on the Atkins diet Feb 2002 and lost 35 pounds and have kept it off. I got pretty tired several months ago and did some research about the diet and discovered that I needed to add the potassium, worked like a charm.
I just got all my rings sized down. I was afraid to do it any sooner, cause I just didn't believe that I'd be able to keep it off. Never have before!
Now, my hubby, on the other hand, only lost 10 pounds and stopped dead. After several months, he gave up out of sheer frustration. I think that maybe there are some people that the program just won't work for. It really depends on how you gained the extra weight in the first place.
I say, give the calcium a good shot and keep at it. Good Luck!
P.S. If you need a fabulous recipe for low-carb pudding, let me know. I have one that gets me through those sweet cravings!

I left work early so I could tape the landing on the Lincoln, I thought that would be the highlight, but the images of our Commander-in-Chief with the sailors on that Carrier were nothing short of amazing. Nobody could of scripted this today, we saw George W. Bush at home with the people he LOVES, We saw George W. Bush with the people he admires. This wasn't a Ra Ra speech for the troops, it was a homecoming and a day that belongs to our President and he deserves it.

I noticed the pilot and regular co-pilot unhooked theirs right away. They are awfully tight.
On the special features for Band of Brothers DVD, one of the actors, after he was strapped into the WW2 parachute gear, and I mean realllly cinched up, made a very direct remark about how tight, how uncomfortable, the straps were.

I think we should rename it, from Commander in Chief, to Cowboy-in-Chief.
I think I've got a quote of the day...

In honor of our great president:George W. Bush
HONOR AT SEA
Today, a day in history
our leader took to air
the President of our country
like none before would dare
to welcome home returning troops
upon the deck he slam
with military honors on
the bosom of Abraham
Our troops swarmed all around him
like sailors drunk on grog
the great ships Captain wrote with pride
into the Lincoln's log
"Today our ship was honored
all men will mark this day
when our beloved President
on this first day of May
"landed on our flight deck
where heros come and go
to thank us for our service
and let the world know
"what freedom means to Americans
what bloodshed and what tears
and what he said to us today
we will honor through the years"
"Though great men, rare,do come and go
as fate would us allow
we thank our Lord above for this
great man who leads us now"

We glommed onto all the footage of the handshaking. We love the interaction. Hubby says that's his campaign 2004 strategy...to shake every hand in America.
And Condi was there! Great day!

Why don't you save this Dose to your harddrive? The pictures will still be there so you can show them to him when he gets back.
And, of course, for your enjoyment.
