The Fox News version of the story confirms the speech happens tonight.
Learning from CNN: We report the news BEFORE it happens!

Canned report let on the web early no doubt. Author must not be paying attention much to state this falsehood: "there is no new evidence that Saddam's government had ties to al-Qaeda."

IMHO, what the President is doing is so appropriate - thanking the people who make the M1A1 main battle tanks at THIER JOBSITE, addressing the nation on the deck of a US aircraft carrier and thanking the crew of the USS Lincoln at THEIR JOBSITE. This President must have the utmost respect for those who turn the wrenches and pound the metal to acknowledge them at their places of work. The unions and Dimocraps be damned, Americans know this President is for real.

The president was spending the night in captain's quarters. After breakfast in the morning, he was to leave ahead of the carrier's arrival into port so his presence would not delay troops' reunion with loved ones.Copied from Drudge's link here:

Wow.... Can you imagine Clinton being this considerate under any circumstances??

Nope. Another post today has an AP article that talks about Bush watching jets depart the carrier. This, before carrier flights had resumed following the Bush landing. Every wonder why the AP often reads like fiction?

GW in flight suit contrasts with the unforgetable pic of Dukakis in battle tank helmet.

We watched the whole thing on TV. It was truly amazing to watch President Bush land on that carrier. And it was even more amazing to watch President Bush mingle with the sailors on the deck, and posing with them for endless pictures. Then the President seemed to find his flight suit too much and he struggled to get out of it. The sailors all helped him. His ease with these sailors was very endearing to us, and I'm sure to them. A great day!

Moreover, central questions remain unanswered. Saddam Hussein is unaccounted for, no weapons of mass destruction have been found and there is no new evidence that Saddam's government had ties to al-Qaeda. No bias here! Thank you, once again USA Today...

That pot-bellied pig would have all those families waiting while HE walked down the plank! I was thinking about this before it was announced. Can you imagine the political COURAGE to NOT take a bow in front of that ready-made, enthusiastic audience?? What a man. This is why "the economy be damned."
The public sees this kind of behavior out of Bush, and I'm convinced that nothing short of a full economic collapse is going to unseat him next year.

The man has worn that suit before.
Looks more like a Colonel or Navy Captain (Aviator naturally) than the President of the United States.
A man who is comfortable in his skin and knows who he is.
