Fantastic picture of Condi. I just sent it to an African-American friend of mine who is trying SO hard to stay liberal.

Maybe Condi will pull him over to the right side!

Awesome people when they are doing something they love with people they respect and love, are awesome!

We just saw this reality in action.

Even John McCain was impressed and awed with his remarks.

I SO envy you living in SD. When my son-in-law was stationed at Camp Pendleton, we used to go into the city quite often.

In fact, if you can believe it, they had their wedding rehearsal dinner at Dick's Last Resort in Gaslamp Quarter. Not what we were expecting ;-) At least the wedding ceremony was a little less raucous!

Gee, I don't know about the other one named Card! Maybe it's a cousin. I'll post if I see anything about that.

"I found myself yelling, and I heard the conservative neighbors across the street yelling. They came home for lunch just to watch it. They got back to their office a little late."

This, my friend was a historical day for all American's.

Someday the USA will have a woman president
Someday the USA will have a African-American President.
Obviously the USA will have more Republican Presidents.

Might all happen on the same day.

It was a wonderful day and a long painful trail since 9/11!

Thank God for our president, his cabinet and our brave service people around the world!

I feel the exact same way.

And I am sure George W. Bush feels your prayers.

I hope he can feel them - I want him to. The saddest part of the Glenn Beck Rally here was when he quoted 41 as saying that Dubya felt the country praying for him after 9/11/01... and then 41 got teary-eyed as he told Glenn that "My son also felt it when America *stopped* praying for him."

I bawled like a freakin' baby after that rally...

I dunno - he's pretty stubborn. He's a fiscal conservative, though - hates seeing his tax dollars being misspent. I think he feels he has to be socially liberal because of his race, however, he did fine without AA.

Twenty years Air Force, then another 20 years working for the company I work for. He was also democratically elected president of the Union local by a landslide (this in a local that was 90% white males).

No he wouldn't. Hubby is a retired USA pilot and such a manouever is very dangerous when one does not fly on a regular basis.

Look at all the crashed weekend pilots. GWB would not endanger our country for a cheap thrill.

Straight-and-level isn't that hard, even in a Hoover. In any case, I'm confident that the Navy assigned an instructor pilot for this flight, and President Bush, while not rated in S-3s, has been there and done that.

Now, I'll bet he was wise enough to sit there quietly during takeoff and (especially) landing.

Wendell Goler on Fox just said the pilot asked the President if he wanted to land the plane on the carrier..
