"Metaphorically, I would say, they're playing with Armageddon," said Bill Fletcher, co-chair of United for Peace and Justice.Too late to give him a Garofalo, but he's in the running for next year!

Like so many of his ilk, Fletcher is apparently biblically illiterate. Not to mention evil to suggest he is in favor of 'peace and justice' while wanting to hold on to the status quo in Iraq - i.e., raping, maiming, torturing, and murder of Iraqis by Saddam.

Great work on the Garofalo Awards, Kristinn.
One of the things that drives me nuts is that the Left now ignores the war and focuses on how "the US is a military success, but a diplomatic failure" - the US has been immeasurably strengthened diplomatically by this war.
France is trying to build bridges, North Korea is more conciliatory, the UN looks ridiculous - when people realize that you mean what you say, you can get a lot accomplished.

"They
also want to discredit Bush's foreign policy and work to unseat the popular commander-in-chief in next year's presidential election."
Also?!! That's their only goal!

"What's the point of me saying anything right now, while they're in the end zone doing the dance and spiking the football?" actor Mike Farrell said to Reuters. "We'll be heard when it's appropriate." I see. It's an us against them struggle. Like a football game. He admits the Bush administration scored, but refuses to give him credit for it. His attitude is..We'll get 'em next time. He is basically admitting that he is going to be anti Bush no matter how well Bush does.

The left is tenacious and will use any means necessary. This time their efforts have humiliated them.
By their own lying numbers, the attendance at their anti-war rallies fell over 90% from January 18 to April 12.

"The anti-war movement is like a whale...It periodically breaches and is visible above the water like what we saw these last months."
And just like a whale it occasionally gets confused, loses its direction, and ends up beaching itself where it rots in the sun while scavengers pick at its stinking carcass...

"Anti-war" groups = big losers in light of the overwhelming success of the war and the speed of that success. HA HA!

"The anti-war movement is "like a whale," he said. "It periodically breaches and is visible above the water like what we saw these last months. Then it goes down under water
it hasn't disappeared, it will come back again."
I would characterize them as more like hemorrhoids; they come out, are a pain in the ass, and wont go back in.
