How about a law forcing colleges to dish out the same amount of scholarships to men as to women?

Except during World War II, when slightly more females enrolled than men, males were in the majority until men’s graduation rate began to decline in the late 1970s. By the early 1980s women began to represent the majority of graduates.

I wonder what happens when the oppressed women of America have to compete for the slave wages being offered to the oppressed H-1B peoples of color of the third world?

Another factor is while jobs strictly listed as blue collar are on the decline, many of the jobs listed as service industry jobs are blue collar in nature, such as HV-AC technicians, truck drivers, various maintaience workers, welders and these jobs can pay fairly well, often more than $50K a year with some senority.

A liberal arts degree is fine but it doesn't buy you much ... many skilled tradesmen (without a degree) will earn far more in their lifetime than a run of the mill college graduate. You may have read the book "The Millionaire Next Door" many of those millionaires have never set foot on a college campus.

Monday, April 28, 2003 -- NORTHAMPTON - Smith College students earlier this month made a decision some might find mystifying: Although Smith is a women's college, the students voted to change the language of their student constitution so that the pronouns "she" and "her" would be replaced with gender-neutral terms. The vote applies only to student government documents, and not to official college publications, so none of the college's brochures will excise the female pronouns.

In the old days when I was in college 1970 the lefties preached the "end of the world" by way of environmentalism. The book "The Population Bomb" was required reading in about 5 of my classes. If you even hinted that the earth maybe able to handle more than 2 billion people you were ejected from class.

Very true. I think a lot of guys don't feel they'd be comfortable in college because it's very female-dominated and oriented. Now that soft and squishy has swamped fact and reason, I think that guys (and, in fact, many smart women) are finding traditional college programs to be a meaningless waste of four years.

I'd bet there are a lot of guys out there doing things - military, construction industry, trades - who might have considered college but really aren't attracted by the program. Will they make as much as college grads?

In some cases, yes; in others, perhaps not, but they'll be sane and happy and creative. And a good catch for any woman, if her college education hasn't rotted her brain.

A huge cohort of males have been "diagnosed" with ADHD, medicated (often), and sent to trade/technical school. I am serious: That's exactly what happened to them.

Perhaps more and more males are seeing that the university "education" has become a useless exposure to PC brainwashing. (I say that as a PhD [to demonstrate I'm not anti-education], tho that was from before PC took over).

As I always like to point out Bill Gates and Larry Ellison of Oracle two of the richest men in the world didn't graduate from college.

So females have had equality for 20+ years can anyone point out to me how except to stiffle male aggression how we are any better off? My wife is a teacher and she confirms that the Bill Gates of the future are all being put on Ritalin.

I think I know why there isn't a lot of men at college. They go to trade schools so they have a better chance of being employed and sooner.
