The Thomasas' (sp?) floated this idea a few years ago when Conason was shopping it around, but nothing ever came of it. After 9/11, such a project became unworkable, since nobody cares about Clinton anyway; the last thing people want to do is bring up impeachment and Monica, so forth. Its ancient history. It would be a financial disaster, and that's one thing Spielberg is pretty good at avoiding (1941 aside)

If you have inside info, I would say take it with a grain of salt at this point. I'm an entertainment news lurker myself with some contacts, and this sounds like that Spielberg-Lincoln movie rumor that was floating around about a year ago.

Conason is a complete joke, a Clinton knee-padder extraordinaire. His boorish, juvenille taunts are what passes for intellectualism amongst liberals. He is an unquestioning slave of the Democratic party, having never formed an independent judgment in his life. Liberals love him for never questioning the liberal ideology or Democrat politicians and for reaffirming their puerile assumptions on how the world works. You can judge a people by their "thought leaders".

I'm surprised Spielberg isn't doing a film about his hero Fidel Castro. Then he could get to leave out all the unpleasant facts about Castro's island prison, just as he left out the whole truth about the hero of Amistad.
