I understand that Jeffrey Sutton is one of the nominees attacked for his "pro-life" views because he is a Catholic. The Democrats ignore, and hope the public has conveniently forgotten, that anti-Catholic bias was roundly condemned, and assumed to have been defeated, in 1960 when John F. Kennedy was elected President. (The Democrats ought to remember John Kennedy; he was in all the papers.)

The Democrats ignore, and hope the people will also ignore, the provision in the Constitution that says there shall be no "religious test for public office." That means no religion shall have its adherents preferred. It also means that no religion shall have its adherents disqualified.

And as for the Times attack on Sutton for "opposing the application of the Disability Act to states," there is this little matter of the Constitution, and this minor question of whether Congress has the power to tell states what to do with their employees. But then to the Times, the Constitution is nothing but toilet paper.

the left also "forgets" that as a Circuit court nominee, Sutton is bound to follow the Supreme court.
