" Earthquake centered in Fort Payne, Alabama. About 4.5 on Richter scale according to Channel 2s Karen Minton. "

Amazing still nothing on the major cable or network news........not a big quake I know but still substantial.

I'm right near the NC-GA line and the first thought that popped to mind was that they must be running trains again on the tracks down the way. Was already up & working on something or else surely wouldn't have felt anything. Well, now I know what it was. Good thing it wasn't the Big One!! ;)

Since it was felt in Atlanta, I'd think CNN would be all over it...but they're not.

I've never, before, heard that. More proof that a public school educator must be forced to teach the truth.

In this part of the world the only participants in "panning for gold" were in exteme southern MO and northern AR.

CNN is too busy sucking up to the Clintons to report an earthquake!

I drive through the Mentone, Summerville, Valley Head area regularly.

Hope the nuclear power plant is okay over on the TN River off Hwy 72 up the road from the bridge.

Chattanooga Tennessee has been live with coverage about it for 20 minutes now. It shook them live on TV, they have repeted the coverage of it now. People calling stations live on the air.

"The Gold Dome", aka the Georgia capitol building, has gold leaf on it from Dahlonega GA. Or at least it did when it was built, no telling where renovation leaf came from. Dahlonega and Gainesville, GA, had origins during the GA gold rush.

A rite of passage in the schools of Forsyth County is a field trip to Dahlonega (North of Atlanta for those who are not familar with the area). The kids come home with a vial of gold dust. In their little minds, they have struck the mother lode.

If I am not mistaken, the dome of the Capitol building is Dahlonega gold.

WOW! What an active night. I've not felt an earthquake here since 1966 (or so)...and then I had a really rough time trying to convince my parents that "the earth moved" :).
