Laci's Father Speaks About Hard Times Dennis Rocha: 'We'll Never Be The Same Without Laci' Karen Brown
POSTED: 10:24 p.m. PDT April 28, 2003
MODESTO, Calif. -- Dennis Rocha spends every waking moment thinking about his little girl, Laci Peterson, and is tormented by the pain of losing his daughter, NBC11's Karen Brown reported.
"We'll never be the same without Laci," Rocha said. "It took a big chunk out of us. There is a big whole left there now."
He is also tormented by his anger for the man who allegedly took Laci and her baby's life -- his son-in-law, Scott Peterson.
"(It makes me) angry and sick to my stomach," Rocha said. "What is the reason for this? She didn't deserve this. Why do something like that to someone?"
The quiet dad, who has chosen to remain in the background during the Peterson investigation, tries to keep busy on the ranch where Laci spent her early years. But he also said he won't miss a single court date.
"I'm going to be there. I want to see justice done," he said.
In the meantime, he's thankful for the way the public has been there for his family and in how they've been showing their support by leaving flowers and balloons at Laci's Modesto home.
"It makes me feel good. It makes my heart swell," he said.
Rocha knows that the days ahead will be tough with Sunday being not only the day of his daughter's funeral, but also the day of Laci's 28th birthday.
"I hope we'll see each other all again some time...I just hope for that," Rocha said.

I hope he is prepared for spending YEARS in the INJUSTICE system court rooms. I've a friend in Kali..his daughter was slaughtered by one of those serial killers that was over 20 years ago. Man's still on death row, still appealing.

There is a big whole left there now. Well, considering it is California, I would consider that statement pretty accurate.
(I'm sorry, I saw that and the above was the first thing that came into my mind.)

I believe the family is keeping Dennis Rocha out of the spotlight because his emotion is at the anger stage, whereas Sharon's is more sadness and devestation. Dennis is liable to say "let me kill that mo-fo myself!"
