Argh! My hot button. Cut some costs, jerks. Stop borrowing money my great-grandchildren will have to pay back.

Since when did the Republicans become deficit driven, tax-and-spend liberals? I tell you this drives me to drink.

Why, just last week I got a letter from the RNC telling me that I had better support the GOP or else liberals would be spending tax dollars like crazy, running up the deficit, and increasing federal control over our lives.

Good thing the GOP has control of the House, Senate and White House, eh?

/sarcasm off.

You're all whining liberal-lovers. See, when Republicans run massive deficits, spend like crazy on social programs to keep themselves elected, and increase the size of government, that's Strategery.

When Democrats run massive deficits, spend like crazy on social programs to keep themselves elected, and increase the size of government, that's Evil Profligacy.

Got it? Good. Now get back to writing those RNC checks. They can't borrow like the government can, so they need them dollars.

Republicans are the root of all evil!!! Vote your concience!!! Get a DEMOCRAT elected!!!!

Sure, Democrats raise taxes to 'RECORD' levels....but THEY can brag about a 'SURPLUS'!!! Who CARES if it's only half what they say?? YOU'LL never see a dime of that money ANYWAY! So why should YOU CARE???? YOUR vote reflected HIGH PRINCIPAL!!!

Something about this article stinks.....

OH YEAH!!! It smells like the fields do right now!!! LIKE $HIT sitting dropped on top, waiting for the right moment to be plowed under. Only one other thing smells like that: election year spin.

Congress need to be reminded - I'll call it the TITSS Program (TIs The Spending Stupid)- that if they spent less we wouldn't have a problem. Why is it that we have to endure less of our money when they can't endure it?

Yes, this is the glorious cost of war. The people of the USA (Most likely their children, who they couldn't care less about.) will foot the bill.

Let's have another war soon.

Would you prefer Gore, Dashle, and Pelosi in charge ?

I'll take Bush, Frist and Hastert any day.

Not 'tax and spend.' Repubs have borrowed that grand stategy of 'borrow and spend' from the beloved EPA administrator.

You know, your logic escapes me. It isn't an either or proposition for one thing. Second, what is the difference, then? Why support the GOP if it is going to opt for higher government spending, gun control, lower tax cuts, more regulation? Because you like the team members better?

Right now, there are a lot of people in the Senate and House who would just as soon have someone besides Frist in charge...with GOP after their names...

the deficit is mostly a hangover from the Clinton bubble and 9-11 and has little to do with the republicans. The republicans are delivering on tax cuts and restraint on govt. They should be cutting govt., but I'll take what I can get. Plus, can you imagine the kind of judges we would get if the democrats were in charge ?
