As someone who works at Intel, I don't think he will be the last.

On April 1st I posted a story/link to Mike Hawash's website, which was pulled.
I don't know anything about the guy outside of what he has on his website.
As of this posting he doesn't mention today's court action.
AM, if you don't think this is appropriate please pull this response.

Southwest Portland is the home of what is considered to be the most radical mosque in the country. Yes, I guess you could call it Taliban West.

Thank you for the link.
This story was just breaking as I posted it. Apparently there has not been sufficient time to update the website.
BTW, according to his website, there's a rally for him tomorrow. I think I'll skip it.

We know a young fellow who was a project construction manager, and his company moved him to Beaverton in the early 1990s. He was the liason between Intel's Beaverton campus and his company for new construction projects and massive changes in older sites at Intel.
He said that he felt like he was in the Middle East or SE Asia when he visited Intel's Beaverton campus. After 6 months he convinced his company that he was a bad fit as a conservative American with NRA stickers and Bush/Quayle stickers with either a fly rod or a shot gun in the back of his pickup. They moved him out of there.
He told us after 9/11, that the FBI and CIA should do a lot of investigations of the anti Americans working at Intel in the Beaverton Campus.
When I emailed him the famous Welcome to Islamofacists to Portland photo, he agreed and said that Portland might even be worse than Seattle re the Anti Americans working and living in those two cities.

Wow! I didn't know that! The Beaverton/Hillsboro is, relatively speaking, rather conservative.
I live at the southern end of what is known as the "High Tech Corridor", and most of my neighbors work for Intel. One is from India and is Hindu, but the rest are caucasion.
I need to get out more...

That was in 93/94, and things may have changed.
The company that he used to work for went belly up during the Oregon enviral recession and when Nike/Intel pulled the plug with a lot of jobs in that area. Fortunately, he saw that coming and was with a different company when it happened.

UPDATE WITH DETAILS:
PORTLAND - A Hillsboro man is the latest from our area to be charged with terrorism related crimes.
Mike Hawash, 39, an independent contractor who had been working for Intel was charged this morning with "conspiracy to levy war against the United States, conspiracy to provide material support and resources to al Qaeda, and conspiracy to contribute services to al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Federal authorities allege Hawash, who has been detained for more than a month, joined members of the 'Portland Six' in an attempt to enter Afghanistan and take part in a jihad against US troops.
The complaint states that Hawash left the United States on October 24, 2001 and flew to Hong Kong, where he joined Jeffrey Battle, Patrice Ford, Muhammad Bilal, Ahmed Bilal, and Habis Al Saoub, and entered into China.
According to the complaint, Hawash claimed that his travel to China was related to his personal software business.
The complaint alleges that Hawash traveled with other defendants to several provinces in western China and also to Beijing in an attempt to enter Afghanistan.
Federal authorities believe Hawash stayed at the same hotels in China on at least three occassions:
at the Shan Cheng Hotel in Urumqi
at the Chini Bagh Guest House in Kashgar in October 2001
at the Jing Hua Hotel in Beijing.
According to federal officials, Hawash shared a hotel room with Jeffrey Battle while the group stated in Kashgar.
The complaint states that Hawash returned the US in November 2001 after his unsuccessful attempt to enter Afghanistan.
On October 3, 2002, a federal grand jury in Oregon charged Battle, Ford, the Bilal brothers, Al Saoub, and October Martinique Lewis with the same charges filed against Hawash today. All but Al Saoub are in custody, and are scheduled for trial October 1, 2003.
Al Saoub remains a fugitive overseas.

Knowing this area, if things have changed since then, it's for the worse.
I'm glad he ended up in a good position.

This is one of the reasons why Ford got off with his light sentence.
He rolled over on a lot of Islamofacist buddies and at least one big Islmofacist in London.

To be honest, I quit reading the
Oregonian and I quit watching local news over Measure 28 and their blatant attempt to pass it. The local and state media outlets aggravate me to no end.
It's good to hear that about Ford! I hope any imformation he has is extremely helpful.
To: Grampa Dave
information...sheesh!

My daughter's leftist political science instructor at Bellevue CC (near Seattle) told her class a couple of weeks ago that Hawash had been arrested and detained "for no reason," implying that this was a random arrest based upon Hawash's ethnicity and/or religion.

LOL! Grandkids, of course!;o)

This al Qaeda/American Clymer was arrested because his buddy Ford rolled over on him to get a deal from John Ashcroft.
He is just one of many who will be facing justice due to Ford's roll over.
