In Michigan, the number of Concealed Pistols Licenses issued since shall-issue went into effect (1 July 2001) is on the close order of 90,000. I don't know the population offhand; I'll get back to you on that.

Exactly. It destroys the myth that no one "needs' a handgun. I don't have the data on all of the CCW holders but it's something like 2% of all gunowners get one in the CCW "Shall Issue" states. I was very disappointed when so few get a license which would help not only the state but our own numbers.
