Free Stater allegedly arrested for passing out FSP literature at NRA convention
Free State Project ^ | 4/27/03 | DadaOrwell

Morning, FReepers! I have some news I thought might interest you:

Free State Project Member Services Director Tim Condon was apparently arrested Sunday for handing out FSP literature at an NRA convention in Orlando. This according to FSP president Jason Sorens.

Many Free Staters and gun rights advocates were already angry at the NRA for leaning too far left on certain gun control issues. Yesterday's arrest seems to be focusing new attention on the NRA's perceived shortcomings.

Details are on the FSP forum at: http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=1647;start=0#lastPost

Found it! Free Market, 1980 issue. Gee I feel old. Cover pic, 'Demonstration outside the Australian consulate in Los Angeles, California. With the picketers is Professor John Hospers, Libertarian Party candidate for President.' The signs they are holding read 'Laissez Faire for Vemarana.' The island was Espiritu Santo, in the Vanuatu group. From memory this incident has previously been discussed here, 4-5 years ago. Cheers, By

The question is, it worth doing?

Killing a cop? Uh....NO!

No, not 'killing a cop.'

I meant you, year after year, hovering around the threads for a bit of opportunistic sniping. Isn't it getting a bit stale? I know it is, for the rest of us.

Matsuidon was one of the calmest and most gentlemanly posters on FR, or anywhere else. Your whole bunch on their best day couldn't hold a candle to him, in debate.

Such a gentle soul, he could make the angels weep with a sweet gentlemanly turn of the phrase . . .

Or make an innocent young family cry with the pull of a trigger.

But with so few heroes to choose from, constitootionalists take them where they find them--murderous rampages and all.

Thanks...brings back a very surprising memory!

A little quixotic, our Prof. Hospers.

Pro 2A.

Anti-Big Government.

Anti-crappy lawsuits.

Pro Free-market.

Anti-Taxes.

No welfare. No HillaryCare. No SS ponzi schemes. Voluntary contractual agreements where you don't have to hire people via qoutas. No free loaders. Pro-Self Defense. Pro-Property Rights.

But we're also against bedroom police and sending pot smokers to the state pen. This negates all of our other positions.

Only to narrow-minded idiots. Ms. Grundy obviously was prodigious in production of progeny. Adds to the irony doesn't it?

If you take the tack that our laws must remain neutral to something so basic to the very foundations of our civilization as the health and welfare of the human family, then the Constitution can likewise remain totally neutral to something such as capitalism. If the vast majority of people choose to take over the means of production, let the old money system rot in useless banks, and have love become the new medium of exchange, then that should be allowed to happen, too, one supposes. In a perfectly Constitutional and legal way, political power can become assumed at the point of production, rather than in Washington, or in any state capital, leaving the old system more of a curious anachronism and a quaint museum. If laws can remain neutral to societal health, then so can they be neutral to the accumulation or expropriation of economic wealth.

You're projecting, amigo. I suggest taking a good look at your own online persona.

If *you* were shot to death, in a gunfight with police, how many Freepers would pile onto the Forum saying, 'yes, we could see his murderous rage building!'

What facts, friend? He was a polite and cultured poster. You know it, and I know it. Using the tragedy to try and collectively smear Libertarians is beyond the pale.

Did he kill a cop or not? The Son of Sam had a dog but I don't know what that proves.

As were FReepers CHIEF Negotiator and Gary Flynn/Yosemite Sam before they were murdered. And we're told that neither Chief's tax reform work nor Gary's having blown the whistle on a BATF snitch and arsonist trying to set him up had anything to do with their unsolved murders, either.

Round up the usual suspects.
