Morning, kitten! I haven't been to TomGuy's #51 link, but I guess Drudge broke the story last night and the Fox & Friends crew filled in some details this morning:
Al Franken lost it at the awards dinner Sat. night. FoxNews had 2 tables way in the back where the F&F crew was located (and one table in the front). According to Steve and Brian, Al Franken walked up to the table next to the F&F crew (where the Hannity crew was located) and started talking "loudly" to Alan Colmes, a 'discussion' which continued for more than 20 minutes, according to Brian Kilmede.
Franken accused Alan Colmes of not doing a better job of taking on Sean Hannity. It got so ugly that Brian Kilmede stepped in - to which Steve Doocey said something like "stepped in, you beat the guy up!" (which I want details on!) - as did another FoxNews producer who told Al Franken that they didn't yell at each other on H&C..that it was a forum for debating opposing views...if he wanted yelling he could go to Crossfire...that's why H&C is #2 in all of cable news..(loosely paraphrasing).
Brian Kilmede said Al's behavior "was totally inappropriate". He thought Franken was nuts - his eyes were so angry. Lauren Green did volunteer that Al Franken went to her gym and that she'd never seen this side of him.
If I had a team, I'd pick Brian Kilmede. First, Janine G., now Al Franken...he's my hero. (^;

I just don't understand what Franken was doing there at all. He's not attached to any news agency that I am aware of, so was he an invited guest? Anyone know who invited him?

Maybe Al was a late replacement for Michael Moore - Peter Jenning's guest? (^;
FN: William La Juenesse:
Security situation at second meeting between Iraqi leaders w/ Jay Garner in Baghdad:
Talking to a military police officer: "We were prepared. We worked on it hard. We've been in the area for a while. We have more than enough to deal with anything that shows up...we've only had one demonstration. It was really peaceful."
Re. tools to handle mobs...."we have them. We just keep them hidden."
"We had an incident in front of the gate. They carried signs and placards...in front of the gate. All very peaceful...first taste of freedom."
WLJ: "Delgates were hand searched....you saw clerics, sheiks - in business suits, sports shirts."
One of the major things we were worried about, that our guys would be goaded into shooting back by a protestor.
Ba'ath Party was NOT invited.
"No major trouble. One of the reasons, there was a massive amount of armor on the streets of Baghdad today...the incidents that we have had, many of them have occured at night."
Conference went on as scheduled, with no major security incident.

I just don't understand what Franken was doing there at all.Morning RK, I'd like to know the answer to that one myself. Sounds like a temper tantrum to me, more liberal poor self-esteem. Franken loses it publically--shows he doesn't have control of himself, hasn't figured out appropriate social behavior (or he was chemically altered perhaps).
Anyway, children who don't know and aren't taught how to behave and interact with others experience a lot of subconscious fear. I am thinking there are many DemocRats and libs who fit this profile.

I like the washing drying and folding...the putting away is torture. I think I'd rather scrub the toilets of strangers.

This administration is careful, deliberate and will not be , as Gen. Franks said, "Baghdad Bob" (or Baghdad Bill). That's why they are trustworthy. So, press and pols, you can goad and accuse 'til the sun sets...and these guys will still do the right thing...carefully and deliberately - and honestly.Well said.
Good morning BUMP!

Anyone know who invited him?I don't know who invited Franken, but most of the major papers, TV, magazines, etc. buy tables (Fox had three) and are allowed to invite guests. Greta, for example, invited three soldiers.

Just caught the tail end of the report on FoxNews, but apparently the Israeli intelligence has a significant part in Pvt Lynch's rescue--providing intelligence information to the Special Forces.

Yes, he obviously doesn't know how to behave like a civilised person in a social setting. Someone else on another thread brought up that he once followed Sean Hannity down a hallway at Fox yelling obscenities at him. Sounds like he's got some sort of personal thing about Hannity. Since it didn't work going after the man himself he goes after his partner? What a maroon!

I'll be on the road most of the day. May not get in time to start the new thread.
Anyone feeling so motivated can do it this evening...

Yes, he obviously doesn't know how to behave like a civilised person in a social settingBeing drunk, fat & stupid doesn't help. Then again, Franken is a liberal's liberal, so it's not surprising he behaved this way.
