Rush Limbaugh said Clinton must be envious of the love these Iraqis are showing President Bush at this "Town Hall Meeting," which is Clinton's own creation.

Oh, thanks for saying that. I really wish the media would have repeated it, as it has been known. Thank goodness for Dr.Bob Arnot as he has been reporting this and I think it would behoove the media to point it out instead of hinting that the war caused lack of medicines and food.

I don't know who that was, but he worried me the whole time GW spoke.

I got the same impression because there was no emotion on his face all during the speech .. but he did talk to the President after the speech and had a smile

Maybe I am just being paranoid

BTW .. great speech and by the sounds of it .. the Iraqis there loved it also

That's so special. He wasn't even born in Tikrit. He was from Al-Ouja, down the road a piece. The date of his actual birth is somewhat disputed as well. From 1935 through 1939. The April birthday was borrowed from someone he knew.

"...This might be explained by the fact that the whole process for registering births, marriages and deaths was exceedingly primitive. At this time it was the custom for the authorities to give all peat children the nominal birth date of July 1; it was only the year that they attempted to get right." This would certainly explian why a certificate presented in one of Saddam's official biographies gives July 1, 1939 as the date of his birth. In fact, Saddam acquired his official birth date from his friend and future co-conspirator, Abdul Karim al-Shaikhly, who came from a well established Baghdad faily adn so had the advantage of possessing an authentic birth date.

From Saddam: King of Terror by Con Coughlin. It's an enlightening book. Should be required reading for Hollyweirdos et al.

I was nervous too..he would stand, but not applaud, nor smile. Good to hear he had a chat with W after. Maybe he was nervous that he was front and center behind W on world wide TV!

When people whine critically on how long it is taking to have an 'Iraqi Govt' just remind them that americans watch TV shows that take longer to find a winner.

I have noticed that all of the religious leaders that I have seen from the Muslim faith seem to be somber in public venues. I wonder if they think it is inappropriate to show emotion.

Just guessing, and I don't really know. The guy would not have been seated behind the president if he were a potential problem.

I was wondering the same thing. I had to take a phone call right at the beginning of the Pres. speech (arg!). I caught the last of it.

That is very possible, I don't know that much about their culture

He did seem to be happy to speak to the President after the speech that I noticed

This is a typical Palestinian reaction. Not angry that Saddam was brutalizing their fellow Muslims, but mad as hell that they didn't fight the US harder. I've said it before, Muslimes don't care one iota about each other. What rings their chimes is hating the West.
