Altercation with "anti-war" chick
Posted on 04/27/2003 4:51:05 PM PDT by kimchi lover
I was minding my own business, walking around downtown in our smallish California town when I spied a few "anti-war" stragglers on the corner across the street. I wasn't even going to bother crossing the street till I saw the sign held by this middle-aged hippie chick that just steamed me up to no end.
Her "brilliant" comment was, "You can't liberate dead people!". Well, when I saw that, I HAD TO cross the street and ask her a question.
I walked over to her and asked, "Don't you care about the people that Saddam has tortured and raped and killed for over thirty years?". Her answer...it's a classic..."Well, two wrongs don't make a right!" :^[ I turned on my heels and started to walk away with her yelling, "Hey, don't walk away without hearing what I have to say!". I turned around and said, "Believe me, I already KNOW what you are going to say...it's all the same, nothing new" and I walked home.
My question, how can people be so blind and ignorant? Is there NOTHING worth going to war over?
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE???

It isn't about logic. Any attempt to deal with it on that level is doomed to failure.

I hope you immediately sprayed yourself down with Lysol, ran home and jumped in a tub of 10% chlorine/water (standard generic pathogen disenfectant).
What these freaks have is scarier than the SARS thing.

I know I know I know. I live in SF and I deal with these idiots every day. Sad.

Denial ain't just a river in Egypt. These people were wrong about the whole thing and they're lashing out without, of course, admitting they were wrong. Liberals never admit when they're wrong (which is just about all the time).
People like this love to pick fights. Believe me they do. You handled it very well.

"Well, two wrongs don't make a right!" "So, in your mind, it's wrong to do anything to stop a brutal murderer and torturer from hurting and killing people? I suppose if your neighbor were beating and injuring his children, you would consider it wrong to call the police? And if you saw a murder being committed, you'd look the other way?"

I'll tell you what I told someone last night: the first qualification to being a liberal is being mentally unbalanced. Always remember that and you will always have an explanation for the actions of the left.

The best way of dealing with these people is to read their sign and laugh in their face. They don't even merit debate.

I heard somewhere that liberalism is a mental disease.

The sympathy that Leftists have for terrorists and tyrants is a stubborn thing; it wasn't reasoned, so it cannot be reasoned out.

There is something they will think is worth going to war for. It is when a democrat is the President and needs to cover up for some crime he has committed. Then, and only then, is it okay to bomb another country, or perhaps a Church group in your own.
Oh, also when their loser candidate doesn't get enough votes in an election. They consider that reason enough to declare war on the constitution.
