ONE of the tools that we learned about in "Activism 101" was the Leesburg Grid, which can help to sharpen our message.
As we learned, we need to create four boxes, to represent:- What WE want the general public to think about our rally
- What WE want the general public to think about opponents of our rally
- What THEY want the general public to think about our rally
- What THEY want the general public to think about opponents of our rally.
Once we have clearly established what WE want to communicate, and once we have determined how THEY will attempt to counter us, we can decide on the two or three key parts of our message - which we will concentrate on in all of our flyers, signs, banners and on-site interviews with the media.

We need YOUR help to define and sharpen our message, starting with the NAME of this event, which Ted has suggested should incorporate "M.O.A.B." = the "Mother Of All Bombs."While I greatly respect Ted's political instincts, and I truly believe that we can use this upcoming holiday to expand our message beyond "Support Our Troops" to some sort of "Welcome Home and THANK YOU!" - the "M.O.A.B." concept needs some work, IMHO.

What say YOU?
If we develop a strong message, this "M.O.A.B." concept could be expanded to include Memorial Day rallies
ALL ACROSS the USA, right?

Get some grills and a permit if you need it.
Call it the "Mother Of All Barbeques " and hand out hotdogs and engage passerby in talk.
Besides, it will be fun and very traditional!

Thanks for the ping :)
Personally, I don't like the "mother of all bombs". I think it will be misunderstood.
"The mother of all barbeques" sounds better. My daughter's bridal shower is the 24th, so I can't promise to be able to attend. I am up way too early...

I like Exit148's suggestion...Mother Of All Bashes. It hints at something much rowdier than a backyard barbeque.
The Dixie Chicks have been on the receiving end of the Mother Of All Backlashes, but I don't guess that one fits your theme. lol
