If the Iraqi soldier was cooperating and was shot twice in the back I think it was certainly a war crime. If we do this to enemy soldiers can we complain when they do the same to us?
I understand that the Marine was very angry, I would be too but I don't think that justifies shooting the Iraqi in the back if he had given up.

If Saddam Hussein was running away would you shoot him? I thought so. I rest my case.

I agree. As Americans we are supposed to at least aspire to be on the moral high ground...and recognize the difference between killing in combat and the murder of a surrendering enemy...

I must agree with my fellow Floridian on this. We, as Americans cannot and should not conduct ourselves in this manner.Sounds no different than a cold bloded mob tpye killing. This soldier should be disiplined for this act.

I bet you that they were not surrendering. Probably the reporter made him look bad. I say that to chase these people into the house this soldier was valiant and if he did that, he must have had his reasons. Lets wait to hear the whole story.

They enemy does this to us all the time, always have, always will. We are the only country in the world dumb enough to try and fight with ethics involved. Sometimes we hamper ourselves with these ethics because we are dumb enough to believe that the rest of the world thinks the same way as our ivory tower idealists. There is one rule to follow in war and that is all is fair in love and war, cheat, do whatever it takes to kill the enemy while you survive. Unless you have been on the battlefield or you are God you have no right to judge any soldier from any army.
