Bets Are On: Who Will Be Dubya's Running Mate in 2004?

Who will GWB pick as a running mate for the 2004 match? IMHO, Dick Cheney isn't healthy enough for a second term.
I nominate Rudy Guiliani: Because he would capture NY and has capital to spare throughout the rest of the Nation for his actions after 9/11.
Please comment with your picks and rationale!
Regards,
Anny

I'm pretty sure it will still be the Dickster.

Me too, but how many heart attacks can a man have and remain second in command? I love Mr. Cheney, but fear for the Nation if he stays on for another term and something happens to Dubya.

My choices are Condi Rice, or an underdog Tommy Thompson (I am from Wisconsin)

What is the basis for your opinion that Cheney is not healthy enough for a second term?

It's still Dick Cheney
1) if it isn't broke don't fix it
2) Bush admires loyalty, and Cheney is the consummate team player
3) don't give the 'Rats ammo
To: annyokie
*If* Cheney can't do it, there are many good choices, including Guiliani, Condi Rice (would be really cool), Powell (who won't accept unless he has had a recent change of heart)
One reason for Cheney to step down from another term would be to position a new Vice President as our future Presidential nominee in the term to follow. Bush/Cheney would be a lame duck presidency without a VP to push for the continuing nomination.

For betting purposes, I would go with Vice President Dick Cheney.
In my opinion, the person most qualified to be running mate in 2004 is Vice Predident Dick Cheney.
The person I would most like to be set up for a run for the White House in 2008 is Condi Rice.

What kind of odds can I get on a 25 cent bet on TLBSHOW?

Just because Cheney has had some heart problems does not mean he is not healthy enough for another term. Lots of folks have had heart problems and lived long and productive lives afterward.
It is WAY too early to count Cheney out. I, personally, pray that he will be Bush's running mate again. He has made innumerable contributions to this administration. He is a disciple of John Boyd and his work together with Rumsfeld has been tremendously helpful for our nation.

This would have been a more serious concern before the 25th Amendment, when there was no way to fill a vacancy in the Vice Presidency. I don't think President Bush will change running mates unless Cheney insists on it.

Hmm, maybe his pacemaker? Or whatever that device was that was put in him.

It's MY opinion! The man has had numerous health problems, can you say shunt? since he took office. He looks terrible whenever we are allowed to view him.
I also firmly believe that he should be allowed to enjoy his life without the stress of office. He has contributed much beyond what is asked of a citizen.

I think we should get Corin nominated as VP. He would make things in Washington more interesting.

If it's not Cheney, I vote Condoleezza Rice. Her star is rising quickly.
