In the Friday edition of the Washington Times, in the Metro section, the following item appeared. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a link to it on the paper's website.
GOP activist sentenced on child porn charges
A longtime Republican activist in Northern Virginia was sentenced to two years' probation after pleading guilty to a charge of child pornography.
Richard Delgaudio was charged with taking sexually explicit photographs of a 16-year-old girl. According to court documents and Baltimore police, he paid the girl by the hour for the photo shoots at a Maryland hotel.
As part of a plea agreement, a Baltimore Circuit Court judge placed Mr. Delgaudio on probation, ruling that if he meets the conditions of probation, the judge won't convict him.
According to filings with the Internal Revenue Service, Mr. Delgaudio heads several conservative activist groups from offices in Fairfax County.
His attorneys issued a statement saying that their client acknowledges his moral shortcomings andwill seek counseling.

Hell no! I support NO ONE who is a sexual deviant.
I propose we lock ALL of them up and throw away the key... Starting with this clown and working our way down the list to Clintoon.

Perhaps she lied about her age....Thus begins the liberal attempt at disinfo prior to the next election. The card they will play this time is the SCANDAL card.

Perhaps she lied about her age.... Uhh....so what?
Sounds like this scum should be shot.

Are you still going to support this guy's organizations? There is a difference between supporting a person and their cause.

To better answer - I would not support directly organizations he was heading, but if he was forced out (as he should be, as clinton the rapist should have been) I would not see a problem supporting the organizations. After all, we still supported the US after learning of Clinton's problems (we just did not support him).

Are you still going to support this guy's organizations? Please specify to which organizations you are referring. The article said he was a "republican activist", but didn't say which groups he heads. If the groups are worthwhile, a better option would be to continue to support the groups as long as they kick him out. If he were heading liberal, democratic groups, this would not even be an issue.

Bummer.
I met Mr. Delgaudio at CPAC through YAF a number of times.
He seemed like a stand up guy. I'd like to know the specifics. At any rate, I'm dissapointed.

Here's an article about it: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A27774-2003Apr23.html
Looks like another Scott Ritter case, only this time the pervert's not getting his charges covered up and the Post deems it newsworthy to cover.
the 'child' is a teenage mother and prostitute
this guy should be banished from our ranks, but that's not why the press loves putting GOP and 'child porn' in the same headline

I met Mr. Delgaudio at CPAC through YAF a number of times. You sure that was him you met and not Eugene Delgaudio? The post article says that they're brothers, but Eugene Delgaudio, who is a GOP county commissioner near DC, is at CPAC every year.
" Sexually explicit " ...What exactly does it mean in this case ? If she lied about her age , and he just took nude photos , what's the big deal ?

It's no doubt that he will never hold another office with the GOP. The GOP oust their deviants, unlike the Dems who still hold Clinton, Barney Frank, Ted Kennedy, and (I'm sure my FR friends out there can add to this list), in great esteem.

A reasonable position,I think. The organizations may do good work for the movement-- some clearly do -- but as long as this guy is involved with them, I think supporting them is troublesome.
Delgaudio's main occupation is as afundraiser. (He worked forBruce Eberle, then went out on his own.) Should conservatives press organizations to can him as their fundraising person, even if he is effective? I think they almost have to.
Full disclosure requires that I note that I have known Rich for many years. He's an old adversary from Young Americans for Freedom. (I was associated with those who ousted the Delgaudios from their power positions in YAF.)

There is another longer, more detailed article. Reportedly he had sex with or photographed several young women (listed as being 15 and 16). Not to defend his actions but the prosecution becomes complicated because in Maryland (the incident happened in Baltimore) the age of consent for sex is 16.
They could bust him for shooting photos of the sex act but not the sex act itself (in the case of the 16 year old).

Shooting him would be too easy. Let him be a prison bitch.
