Black conservative pingIf you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

If the heritage groups are smart, they'll declare victory and move on to other battles.
Glad to see that you made it through tonight's storm.

Michael Bond can kiss my ass!
It's a PERFECT compromise.
Now let's get on to other business.

This is a load of crap. What is so wrong with giving the choice of the old flag? If they are correct that people don't want that one then it won't win the vote. I would have no problem at all with this new flag being chosen if we were actually given a real choice of all the options. This "symbol of opression" junk grates on the nerves after a while.

By not allowing the vote on the old flag they have effectively ensured that this will now be a divisive election issue for years to come. If a referendum was held and the old flag voted down, that would be the end of it. The people would have spoken.
Now, by denying any chance of a vote, the vote itself becomes the issue. Instead of putting an end to this mess, they've made it worse.
We've had 3 flags in 2 years and this is still not settled. Grasp the nettle now. Have the vote, get it over with and move on.

Seems the historians are not consistent in what history should continue or not. There was a must that the historical aspects with the Liberty Bell and the site of slavery be adequately recognized and preserved, and yet here historical facts concerning the flag must be removed.
There must be much I'm missing here.

The citizens of Ga. should overturn the legislature in the next election and not allow one candidate to return to office.

The fact its objectionable to the NAACLP sends a wave of pleasure through me. Its time for Southerners to declare victory and move on. Its the smart thing to do. Let the race poverty pimps continue to stir divisions to pad their declining membership rolls. The people of Georgia need to be looking forward to the future whereas the NAACLP and its ilk is looking backward to the past.

Well...this design is about as good as it's going to get, which is to say, okay. At least they got rid of that fast-food placemat.

I am so damn sick of these NAACP creeps and their PC rants. This while their hero MLK's FBI records are sealed until we are all long dead. Now what could they have to hide there in those missives that would be detrimental to the great ones claims to morality?

The approval vote came with just enough votes to pass. My what a coincidence. Obviously there were more GA politicians who would have voted for the change, but didn't because they might lose reelection votes-Politics as usual, not reflective of our representative republic.
