Topless Berliners make politicians unhappy

Politicians in Berlin are calling for a ban on nudity after soaring temperatures led the city's citizens to strip off.

Martin Lindner, head of the local branch of the Free Democratic Party, complained after dozens of Berliners took off their tops to bask in 20C temperatures.

He said: "A certain amount of chic and respectability must be upheld in the city, otherwise serious businessmen and women will not want to do business there.

"You don't see naked bodies in the best districts of London, Paris or New York."

Now the supposedly liberal politician is calling for a ban on nudity to be placed on certain areas of the capital.

Christian Democratic Union member Peter Trapp agreed, saying: "In Munich there are special parks for people who have a fetish for taking their clothes off in public. Similar places should be opened in Berlin."

The politicians want police to rigidly enforce existing laws under which anyone baring too much flesh in public faces a £100 fine.

I'd like to see what happens to the policeman who tries to enforce this rule in the presence of a group of young men.

Coincidentally, ten new plastic surgery schools opened in Berlin yesterday that specialize in high tempeture silicone. Women who don't meet the minimum requirements for baring their chest will be forced to attend augmentation school, or wear a blouse saying "not for public consumption" across the front.

I went to college in Philadelphia and I can rememeber the first "nice" day that would come along at the end of March or beginning of April: sunny and 65-70° and all the girls in the dorm would get their swims suits on and lay out in the sun... LOL! But after 30's and 40's, that was "basking"...
