I find it interesting that SARS started just as the Iraq war started. And now the World Health Org., another one of these idiotic United Nations bureaucracies, starts screaming FIRE! FIRE! in a crowded theater, just as the UN political clout regarding their failed Iraq policy falls apart. In other words, is SARS nothing but another fraudulent attempt by the UN to gain political power, since they lost so much credibility and power over the Iraq issue? I say YES!

Believe it or not I think you are on to something there.

SARS was rampant in China before the Iraq war. There was panic buying before there ever was a "SARS". Back then it was called atypical pneumonia and the Chinese government was lying about the extent of it. They also pronounced they had found its cause -- chlamydia. They also claimed it was fully under control and there'd be no more cases.

Somehow it eventually hit the WHO and western media's radar screens. It was given its new name, SARS, and the WHO has gone hog wild on it.

It's a serious disease, but this has now become huge mass hysteria.
