Since you choose not to answer my other question here's another: Do you support the renewal of the '94 Assault Weapon Ban? And if so why?

Yes I do.
The banned models are more often than not, or were in the past, used in the commission of crimes more than for any other reason.
While I do understand that most law-abiding citizens would use these automatic weapons reponsibly, I don't want my police force out-gunned by a bunch of crack-dealing punks. Something that happened very often in Miami during the heyday of the Cocaine cowboys.
My wife and stepson (at the time) were caught in a gun battle in a grocery store parking lot, luckily they did not get hurt, but others did.
