[history]
A sizzling sex column in the University of Mississippi's student newspaper has spawned a religious-based, organized firestorm of angry e-mails to school officials, the State College Board and others.
As of Wednesday, at least 2,000 e-mails flooded state College Board headquarters in Jackson and offices of Ole Miss leaders in Oxford. Copies also went to Gov. Ronnie Musgrove, an Ole Miss graduate who appoints board members.

Given the quality of education these days, most college students probably would benefit more from going home and having sex than by attending classes...

Similar sex columns are running in a growing number of student newspapers across the nation, Finley said. "It's widespread. It may not be in the South, but all the Ivy League schools, including Yale, have them."
"If all your friends were jumping off of a bridge would you do it to?" (In best mothers voice!)

"This isn't for 40-year-old alumni. It is for the 20-year-old college student who is probably having sex." Everybody knows that the 40-year-old alumni are not having sex.

This has nothing to do with free speech. She got her chance to speak. The article wasn't edited out of the paper which would not have had anything to do with free speech either. It is simply about taking responsibility for what one has said. Preach the gospel of a whore and you will be walking the street with the rest.
