Bush Edges Clinton, Tops All Comers In New York, But Most Voters Say She Should Stay In The Senate
Quinnipiac ^ | 4/24/03

Posted on 04/24/2003 6:23:54 AM PDT by areafiftyone

If New York Sen. Hillary Clinton challenged President George W. Bush in 2004, the not-so-native daughter would be on the short side of a 47 -- 44 percent split among New York voters, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Sen. Clinton has a 52 -- 36 percent approval rating and New York voters say 59 -- 37 percent that she should not run for President next year.

President Bush has a 58 -- 37 percent approval in New York, up from 50 -- 44 percent in a February 12 poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University.

"That a president fresh off a wartime win would poll higher than most wannabes isn't surprising. What will surprise many is that President Bush does so well against Sen. Clinton," said Maurice Carroll director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute.

"In 2000, Bush was so far behind in New York, he didn't even bother to campaign here.

"Meanwhile, New Yorkers want Hillary to stay home. They'd rather have her call Chappaqua home than to try going back to Pennsylvania Avenue."

Bush is ahead of other leaders in the Democratic Presidential pack:

As a result of the war in Iraq, 31 percent of New York State voters say they are more likely to vote for Bush for reelection, with 28 percent saying they are less likely and 38 percent saying their position hasn't changed.

New York's senior Senator, Charles Schumer, has a 59 -- 22 percent approval rating, including 54 -- 31 percent among Republicans.

From April 15 - 21, Quinnipiac University surveyed 885 New York State registered voters, with a margin of error of +/- 3.3 percent.

The Quinnipiac University Poll, directed by Douglas Schwartz, Ph.D., conducts public opinion surveys in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and nationwide as a public service and for research.

We got the same thing here. I'm posting from Madison WI midwest chapter of the Kremlin. The 'rats here give away cigarettes for votes. Our new 'rat Governor gave free bingo change and soft drinks to the mentally ill for their votes. This violates election laws quite clearly, but the 'rat AG doesn't see a problem. The 'rats get away with the fraud because the 'rat voters...who are the majority...don't care. Wisconsin has not voted for a Pubbie for Prez since 1984. We got 2 'rat Senators. The suburbs vote Republican but there are not enough to counter the liberals in Milwaukee and Madison. I don't have a problem saying Wisconsin is a liberal state.

Again it's not personal. New York is a liberal state. Fraud cannot fully explain the NY elections.

yes...

I doubt it, but it is more likely that she could have met another "lovely" carpet muncher, since janet renal... or her male friend... who died in prison... (hubell?)

Well, fraud and outright deceptions as well as apathy by the voters ,"Like it will matter who I vote for anyway." comments and such.

This state is liberal, but not as solidly liberal as teh Dems try to make it sound.
They do have limits, like with the school board's brainiac idea.

Me, I'm hoping they push their luck and alienate the rest of their voter base here.
I know, I know, not gonna happen.
We're the staging base for most of the major news netwoks east coast..
Not much better out your way.

Heard about the beer and cigs for votes deal.
Ugh!

I was in New York in 2000 and she could not win an honest election, and that's why she and the chuckup were the only one's to vote against voter reform....they can't win without fraud....

She will lose in 2006 and go back under her rock

Wrong! If you think that NYC is obsessed with sex, you obviously don't know this city. It is obsessed with POWER, POWER and more POWER. The Clintons represent incredible power to liberal New Yorkers - who also fawn over their Yale degrees. New Yorkers are the most provincial people in the world. If they were not, they would never have put that woman in the Senate.

I'm hoping that the apathetic voters will actually pay more attention to who they vote for this time.
As well as the 'fraudulators' not being able to operate in total secrecy anymore.

The numbers look good here in the most overtaxed state in America. I can only hope that the Iraq situation remains firmly stable and in control. There is vulnerability and the left will take advantage of any mistake.

The obvious choice for Gays, Lesbians, Knashers of teeth,

Conservative views just wont compute with these people.
