Also, it would be a bittersweet situation. Scott Speicher would come home and find out that his wife had remarried because she thought he was dead. How does that all work out legally? Do you know?

Slow but sure...starting to plod along, rather.Continued prayers for you, M.

I don't think there are any legal entanglements if that's what you're asking. The Pentagon had him officially listed as dead for years, so his wife was not guilty of polyandry from that standpoint. I imagine that under these very unique circumstances, the courts will let those involved work things out. BTW ... His wife's new husband is apparently working very hard to have him found as well.

That sure is interesting. Since the court declared him legally dead, it was like a divorce sp that she would not wind up being a bigamist (sp??). She could choose to divorce her present husband and re-marry Scott. It's all legal to protect everyone. I'm sure both Scott and her second husband are "ten feet tall" type of guys and would do the best thing for all. A lot depends on "feelings".

Her new marriage would be legal. She would've had a court declare him deceased before she married again...and I'm sure that's what she did.
I hate to say I don't think we'll find him alive. It's been 12 years and, in that regime, I doubt if he survived. If he had, I think they would have used him as leverage against the bombings.
God bless and keep him wherever he is.

Thanks, y'all.

Scott Speicher would come home and find out that his wife had remarried because she thought he was dead. Oh, I believe he already knows. The thugs probably taunted him about this. It's been proven they taunt our POWs. They did it with Spc Hudson when they told him his mother was angry at Pres. Bush for this. I'm sure Speicher knows already.

Slowly, Loot Is Being Returned to Museum
---snip----Now, as Iraqi and U.S. officials try to calculate the cultural casualties of the war's riotous close, they are discovering that not all was lost. At least a small portion of the thousands of objects that disappeared, it seems, were tucked away for safekeeping.

That's my fear. I think he was alive very recently, but the regime determined that they could not afford to have him found. With the rumors that began circulating in recent years, and the inspectors running around lat Fall, Saddam probably figured he would do without one of his "trophies." I hope and pray that I am wrong on this. I have to believe that one or more of these captives from the deck of cards knows about Scott. I hope they are talking!

My heart dropped to my stomach when I heard about the fresh mass grave yesterday.

I like your poster boy. Love that stetson.
But my all-time favorite pictures of the president are the ones with his dogs and the children at the WH tee ball games...like this:
Awwwwwww!
Honestly, it looks like Spotty is advising him on war strategies!

Morning situationers! Heard earlier on the news that the head of the Iraqi Museum is not in Iraq and suspicions are falling on him re: artifacts. They are also questioning the assistant administrator of the museum and suspicions are that it was indeed, an inside job.

I read this morning that some of these artifacts have been returned...apparently by people who took them for "safekeeping."

Hey, Laura. It was getting lonely sipping coffee here all by myself. LOL!
So the real story is filtering out. Well, at least the rush to judgment bagged a couple of Clintonoid resignations.

Oh my. Faberge it's NOT. LOL!

BRIGADE TAKES STEPS TO SAVE GIRL'S SIGHT
By S. Thorne HarperArmy Staff Sgt. James Mattwig has seen many children wounded by war, but it was the thought of one little girl that kept him from falling asleep Saturday night.
Mattwig, 31, a D-Troop scout with the 3rd Brigade of the 3rd Infantry Division, had escorted civil affairs officers as they conducted damage assessments earlier in the day.
That's when he saw 3-year-old Aya.
