THIS is what PETA chooses to go after, when the only time I've ever written to them...being about the Beagle puppy tape of Saddam administering nerve agents to them, and videoing this and their deaths, meanT NOTHING to these people???
THIS ORGANIZATION IS A SHAM!!!
I thought before, that they had a place in this world, for checks and balance sake, if nothing else....BUT NOW!!!!
WHAT A JOKE PETA IS!!!!

http://www.howiecarr.org/ did a bit on this story this afternoon. Other names could fall into line: What about boats with the Name: Boston Whaler, Mako--used for fishing, or Sheepshead Bay or Moosehead Lake, Owl's Head....a slew of names could fall victim to PETA.

They continue to grow ever more out of touch with reality.

In 1996, PETA proposed that the Hudson Valley town of Fishkill change its centuries-old name to Fishsave, since the group believed the name conjured up violent imagery of dead fish.
The town was named by Dutch settlers in the early 1600s. ``Kill'' is the Dutch word for ``stream.''
In western New York's Cattaraugus County there sits a Kill Buck, NY 14748, population: 47. And the name means exactly what it says. So why haven't the little kindergarten veggie brownshirts of PETA attacked Kill Buck? Because they're experts in history and language.
Also note how we haven't heard from this genius for some time:

I'll give PETA $1,000 to officially change their name to "Wasted Vegetarians with No Lives."
Make that $1,000 worth of pork, beef, chicken, veal, lamb, eggs, milk, and other animal products--which PETA (now WVNL) must promise to EAT under supervision.

I think the town should take them up on the offer.....for exactly one day. Cash the check, make an "Official Proclamation", have a nice party, then the very next day, make another "Official Proclamation" that reverts the town back to Hamburg. I mean, if these soy-for-brains idiots from PETA want to throw away money for ridiculous reasons, it would be almost immoral NOT to take it from them.

I really expected this to be something from The Onion or BSNN but even if it's not from them and the date isn't April 1, this has got to be a joke, right?

Do these slime realize that the word 'hamburger' is derived from the name of the city of Hamburg, and not the other way around? Same for Frankfurt.
