Is the same group of California voters sponsoring the recall petition the same group who refused to vote for Riordan, saying that a democrat was a better choice than a moderate Republican?

As one of the people who ferociously opposed Riordan, I need to clarify that. Riordan was idealogically to THE LEFT of Gray Davis. We opposed him because we didn't want to make matters any worse than they were.

There is no point whatsoever in nominating a Republican who defines the far left of the other party. All you do is destroy your own party and then lose anyway.

Then you should be very happy with Davis as gov'ner. I never subscribed to that thinking.

I assume that Riordan was to the left of Davis on the abortion and gay issues. Neither of these issues will ever decide who I vote for. I am incapable of having to face the abortion issue due to gender and if the gay folk leave me alone, I will return the favor.
