Iran calls Garner "Israel's agent in Iraq"
Teheran, April 21: Iran has called former United States General Jay Garner, who arrived in Baghdad today to lead an Iraqi interim government, Israel's agent in Iraq.
The news network Khabar quoted on Monday Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as saying that the Iraqi administration should be composed of representatives elected by the Iraqi people and not by a retired American military man who is an agent or at least very close to the "Zionist regime" (Israel).
The network said one of the main aims of the Garner team is to strengthen the status of Israel in the Middle East and provide the Jewish state with cheap oil from the Kirkuk and Mosul refineries in northern Iraq.
President Mohammad Khatami said last week that Iran will not acknowledge a non-Iraqi administration in Iraq and rejected the idea of a US-led post war system.
The new situation in Iraq has turned into a dilemma for Teheran as on the one hand cooperation with a US-led administration would contradict the foreign policy framework of the country which has no ties with Washington but on the other hand, the Islamic state cannot afford to ignore developments in the neighbouring country.

You know, considering we just eliminated the tyrant who killed and gassed Iranian soldiers, they'd be just a little more supportive. The mullahs in Iran are detested by the students -- let's foment another revolution.

This reminds me: When Bush articulated his "Axis of Evil", it was Iraq, North Korea, and Iran. Not Syria.

the Islamic state cannot afford to ignore developments in the neighbouring country.Nor can Iran afford to foment terrorism or disorder in Iraq, or to meddle in any form whatsoever. Instant whuppass would be unleashed.
It must be very uncomfortable for the mullahs right now.

"Nor can Iran afford to foment terrorism or disorder in Iraq..."
Who do you think is organizing the protests in Baghdad and environs? These are too slick to be spontaneous by the civilians. Banners and signs not made in a hurry.
We must go the extra mile to prevent Iraq from being taken over by mullahs and clerics. It will be a fight because the religous sect has already started their battle.
