MODESTO -He spent his first full day in jail Saturday dressed in a red government-issued jumpsuit, sitting in a concrete cell, treating guards very politely and doing very little to draw attention to himself.

With his image beamed on televisions from coast to coast, Scott Peterson could be this town's most infamous inmate. After a four-month odyssey, he is behind bars, facing two counts of murder in the deaths of his wife, Laci, and unborn son, Connor, and the object of scorn among many residents of the farming community where he once made his living selling fertilizer.

10K in cash, dyed his hair (supposedly "bleached" from a swim in a chlorinated swimming pool, hahaha), grew a beard and located right next to the Mexican border while in possession of his brother's ID.

Some people aspire to incriminate themselves. Others are overachievers in this regard.

Now I didn't know that! Did he steal the I.D. or did the brother give it to him?

After reading the time magazine article on Scott Petersen, I can see where he gets his lying ways.

I'm not sure of exact timing, but baby was named in anticipation of birth.

In all fairness, I should publicly amend my comment with the word "allegedly", as overheard from TV news and seen on the Internet. Let's leave it to the DA to prove if this guy is guilty or not.

Isn't it amazing just how quickly the principle of innocent until proven guilty is forgotten these days?

Attorney General Bill Lockyer said they feared Peterson might try to flee.

Well, I wouldn't believe anything Bill "Prison rape is just fine if it's done to an Enron executive" Lockyer says even if he swore to it in an affidavit written in his own blood.

Soulmate to the California Attorney General paraphrased in my last post above, I see.

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA!

I'm particulary impressed with "Runningbear's" (Great nic!!) change of attitude. Apparently, th'boy was pretty arrogant to the policemen for the last couple of days...now, he's very obedient. He seems to be sociopathically self-preserving.

PS...I wanna' find out more about the college friend who disappeared. Does anyone know if this is just a rumor, or does someone know of a reputable reference?
