That last one looked like the car Homer Simpson designed, thereby driving his half-brother to bankruptcy.

OK, this seems to be the best candidate for this year's "Is it ugly or is it cool" award.

Are you sure the VW and BMW photos aren't reversed? If I'd to have guessed between those two, that's what I would have come up with.

The Prowler is back? Worst piece of phony retro-crap ever allowed on the road. I remember when idiots were buying them at auction for about 2x sticker. They were convinced the things would be "collectible."

As for the PT Cruiser, somebody drives the "Capone Edition" around my town...fake bullet holes, wide whitewalls, windshield visor, etc. GAAK!

Those are all well and good - but I want my baby back:

Mine looked just like that one - frost white, dark interior. Awesome sleeper car.

I like the 300C, especially if they put the v10 in it...

When I was a little kid and could only dream about owning a great looking car, the showrooms were full of them.

'65 Vettes, Jag XKE's, '67 GTO's, the first Buick Rivieras, lovely curvaceous machines each and every one.

Now I can afford a good car, and alas, I'm in the era where everything looks like the box it came in.

I do NOT get the appeal of the slab-sided, squashed roof, giant wheel well school you see reflected in so many of these "dream cars".

As a Texan, there's something about a Viper powered pickup.

I guess they're OK, but if I get a new car it's gonna be the 2004-5 'tang. I owned a brand new '67 convertable and have kicked myself every day since I >GAVE< it to a kid who worked at the auto parts store I went to...sigh. I didn't want to fix the rocker boxes...

2004 Scion xb reminds me of Charles DeGalle's hat that he wore most of the time...

the 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer SportBack isn't going to bring back the station wagon.

It's dead Jim.

Now the early 50s Chevy 3100s. There was style and utility.

More on the new Kia here: http://www.kia.com/041703.shtml

But watch out for poor resale value, overweight, and poor mileage on all these Korean cars. I figure that they are still 10 years behind, but closing very fast.

The Saab convertible kept the lines that I like. The new Kia very slightly resembles a Town Car, and the new Z has a couple of the old Z lines, especially on the interior. Most everything else looks like crap to me, especially the boxy molded-plastic SUV's. And it looks like BMW screwed up their classic form in the new Z4.

I'm glad to see they're making interesting cars again. Go ahead and risk being ugly, just do something that doesn't look like every other car on the road.

I actually sort of like most of these, particularly the Chrysler 300C.

The Scion XB however is the ugliest car ever. Nobody is going to drive that. It looks like something a five-year old would draw.

They should have named this one the 2003 Toyota Fugly!

Be the laughingstock of your neigborhood! This is not your father's Toyota! A tasteful merging of Japanese engineering expertiese and French marketing genius!
