I hope everybody is still up for the City of Camarillo Support our Troops Rally next Friday, April 25th at 7 p.m. There will be speakers and music...The city seems jazzed about this!

Way to go merry10! Do we have/need volunteers for the Food Share booth?
Did you hear that the City of Carpinteria has also passed a Support the Troops resolution. So far the cities of Ventura and Oxnard have ignored my inquiries - think it is time to freep them?

No to the Foodshare booth, but yes to placing the names/addresses of the Armed Forces Relief activites on the back of the pamphlet. City concerned about taking cash donations (I don't blame them)...and also Celtic Festival is Saturday, so if they got a lot of food...so we did have some effect.

How is the Food Share situation going to work at the Ventura rally. Is anyone from Food Share going to be there? Should I put something about food donations or just keep it to check donations on the flyer? Is there a number I can use for Food Share for more information? Also, I'm confused about the relationship between Food Share and the Celtic Festival!!

The Foodshare people have not called me back. I left them three phone numbers and I also left messages with any number of people. I don't know what we should do. Maybe we should partner with KFIAM640 and get people to donate to Operation Homefront.

As to the Celtic Festival, I think the mayor was concerned that if we get a lot of food donations that I woudn't be able to get it removed in time for the Celtic Festival to start setting up.

I put on the flyer that we will be accepting checks for the Ventura County Food Share's Military Family fund. Food Share has pretty good visibility in the county so less explaining will be needed. They are really bad about returning phone calls. Let's not mess with food because I would hate to have to coordinate hauling it over to them.
I'm also going to call the rally a "Thank the Troops" rally because I believe the war is winding down and it will make things sound a little "fresher".

Can you ping everyone? I don't know everyone's addresses. At least, I'd like them to come to Friday night's rally even if they dont' live in Camarillo.
