Dozens of people have died in a rash of shootings and reprisal killings in the week since Hussein's regime fell...The "body" of the nation of Iraq has been ill for some time. It's only natural that there should be some purgative effect as it begins to heal itself.

The Arabs are finding the shoe on the other foot hurts huh? The Kurds are simply reclaiming lands and homes stolen from them by force by a brutal regime. And any future Iraqi government will have to acknowledge the ethnic cleansing of Kurdistan was illegitimate, immoral, unjust, and inhuman and find an appropriate solution for the displaced Arabs brought there by Saddam. Let's put it this way contra the Boston Globe in terms its liberal writers can fully understand: There Will Be No Peace In Iraq Without Justice To The Kurds.

And this is definitely about oil. Much of the oil in Iraq lies under the northern ancestral land of the Kurds. We certainly made good use of them during this war and could not have secured the northern oil wells without their help. The US dare not stab them in the back...as the useless Turks did to us.
