OK, I'm going to play devil's advocate here: The day the bodies were found in the bay, the first

CONTRA COSTA TIMES: A tip from a citizen led police to the petite female body about 11:45 a.m., the source said on condition of anonymity. The head and legs were missing and it was apparent that she had been pregnant, the source said.

Doesn't anyone else think this is a bit weird? Why would someone call this in as a TIP? I think this will help his I was framed defense.

I heard that she was found by someone walking their dog..maybe they asked to not have their name released because of the national attention this case has had, and the sheer horror of finding this poor dead woman and the condition of the body, I sure wouldn't was a camera in my face either.

Do you think its possible that the person who found the body didn't want to waste the next 6 months of their lives giving interviews to tabloids? I know I wouldn't want anyone to know it was me who found the body. I haven't got a lot of time for the publicity storm.

The newspaper is quoting the anonymous source, not the citizen's tip. It appears to describe police findings, rather than what the citizen said--although it does seem a bit confusing.
