Cheering The Enemy (Suspicions confirmed:Liberals cheering for Iraqis-my title)

Gary Kamiya, executive editor of the left-leaning Internet journal Salon (www.salon.com), confirms what some Americans have only suspected: Liberals were cheering for the enemy in Iraq.

"I have a confession: I have at times, as the war has unfolded, secretly wished for things to go wrong," Mr. Kamiya wrote last week. "Wished for the Iraqis to be more nationalistic, to resist longer. Wished for the Arab world to rise up in rage. Wished for all the things we feared would happen. I'm not alone: A number of serious, intelligent, morally sensitive people who oppose the war have told me they have had identical feelings."

"Wishing for things to go wrong is the logical corollary of the postulate that the better things go for Bush, the worse they will go for America and the rest of the world."

These people have some twisted minds.

More casualties would have been a preferred alternative to the "larger moral negative" of a victory that boosted President Bush's chances for re-election, he said.

The Biblical punishment of stoning pops to mind as a suitable response to this.

This has always been the libby-dibs' dilemma: their cause is so wrong-headed and just flat wrong, they generally find themselves wishing ill upon their own country so as to further their nefarious ends.

A sick puppy has his say. If he had been an Iraqi citizen under Hussein's regime he would be dead.

Well, at least they're finally being candid.

This has always been more about Bush than about anything else.

OK I have an admission too. I've wished that certain liberals would come to violent and unhappy ends.

You aren't being very morally sensitive....LOL

Once again Salon found some lib with more money than sense. They just got 800,000 dollars which should keep them afloat about another month. Their stock is hovering between 4 and 5 cents a share.

Kamiya was at least honest here. Seems like he's having a late-in-life challenge to his conscience.

As much as I dislike Kamiya's politics, I have to say that his recommendation of Anton Beevor's Stalingrad that he made on Salon last year was much appreciated. Excellent book for war buffs.
