As I understand it, Guangdong province's border is extremely near Hong Kong. Probably a lot of unknowns as to who got it where, given people from Guangdong working in HK.
Somebody quickly correct me if I'm mistaken, please...

Probably a lot of unknowns as to who got it where ... I GUESS you didn't see the stories (plural) about the DOCTOR who was treating patients in Guangdong AND made a now-noted trip to Hong Kong where obstensibly he created the string of first cases seen there?

There are a lot of people from Guangdong province who work in Hong Kong, but it is thought that the disease was brought to Hong Kong by a Chinese doctor who went to Hong Kong from Guangdong province (he worked at a hospital in Guangzhou city -- Canton city) in February.
