If I was Fidel I'd pay real close attention to what this President says. He usually means it.

Howard Stern said today that Bush is like Michale Corleone in the Godfather, settling all the Family's (America's) old scores in one glorious bout of bloodletting.
(He meant this in a good way.)

This "quip" has NO source......and if it's as accurate as a lot of Drudge's headlines, I wouldn't work myself up into a twit over it.

Jay Nordlinger:
Charlie Rangel was peeved mainly that the crackdown made it harder for people like him to continue to defend Castro: "They [the Communist regime] know how to support their enemies and get rid of their friends." Ponder that statement for a while, in all its implications. And if you're still charmed by good ol' "Chollie," you are . . . well, different from me.

Uh-oh. The New York Yankees aren't going to be getting any new pitchers anytime soon . . .

Let me see if I understand this,
Bush must like the dissidents because he wants "TO PUNISH CUBA FOR CRACKDOWN ON DISSIDENTS"
Okay.
But, those tens of thousands of dissidents who fled the Island and are here would like to help their families who might be suffering because they are not there, and because they might be discriminated against by the Cuban government because of the flight of the dissidents.
Okay, so Bush is also going to "cut off cash payments to relatives in Cuba." Now that should really make the dissidents who came here feel real good.
I must keep repeating to myself:
At least he was better than Gore

Uhh, at last count sanctions haven't been working for the last 44 years, maybe... just maybe, it is time to try something else?
But as Churchill Said "You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing... but only after they have exhausted every other possibility"

president to issue stern warning to Castro that U.S. will not tolerate another exodus of rafters... Shades of Elian and another clintoon dis. I love it.
Almost as good as "The last thing that I want to do is to launch a 10 million dollar missile at a 10 dollar tent and hit a camel in the ass.".

The character Michael Corleone? Bush? Naw! If we are using fictional characters I'd say Bush is more like Cool Hand Luke.

That was my first thought also..
I don't see how this is going to have any positive effect.
